Executive Director of Place
East Midlands Combined County Authority
£128,125 - £148,625
Put your strategic leadership skills to the test and make a lasting impact in Derby City, Derbyshire, Nottingham City, Nottinghamshire, and the East Midlands.
Are you a visionary leader with a passion for making a positive impact in Place? The East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA), is seeking an exceptional Executive Director of Place to drive the best outcomes for place and sustainability across the region.
As the new Executive Director of Place, you will have a key role in holistically connecting people and places, creating vibrant and sustainable communities through strategic transport, housing, and net-zero strategies. Your mission will be to ensure long-term systemic impact by executing the requirements of 'our deal' and setting out a high-level ambition for future devolution.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in strategic place shaping and transformative change within a high-profile political or public sector environment. Ideal candidates will have expertise in transport, housing, and environmental sustainability, with the ability to build consensus and lead complex initiatives. We need a committed and creative place maker and shaper to drive and deliver strong results, working with our constituent councils, our districts, our boroughs and our partners to put the East Midlands firmly on the map.
We embrace a values-based culture, where we lift our region, work together, make an impact, and celebrate our diversity. We strive to be an employer of choice in the East Midlands by fostering a transparent and collaborative environment with accessible leadership and a voice for every employee.
To thrive in this role, you will have extensive leadership experience in delivering place services in a high-profile political environment. You will be skilled at negotiating and finding consensus among diverse partners, driving strategy, and leveraging investment to create sustainable and effective transport systems. Above all, you will be a passionate advocate for the East Midlands. We were the culture of enterprise during the Industrial Revolution, and we want you to help lead us to be at the centre of the next. You will work to help our unique region be better connected, better funded and better prepared - leading the way to tell a bigger story than ever before.
If you are ready to make a difference and contribute to the inclusive growth and strategic development of the East Midlands region with a passion for driving positive change, we would love to hear from you. Join us and be part of shaping a prosperous, sustainable, and fairer future for the East Midlands region.
