Full Job Description

Reporting to our Visitor Attraction Exhibits Manager, our Team Leader's primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the exhibitions across the estate. You'll utilise both your people skills as well as your love for our exhibits as a huge focus will be on the guest experience, ensuring our guests enjoy their time with us from arrival through to departure. The role will also involve leading a team of around 25 hosts across 3 exhibits spread out across the Estate. This will involve assisting with scheduling, inputting absences and approving holidays - ensuring there is enough cover across all exhibits throughout the year. You'll develop a strong knowledge of the exhibits, their workings and their history - sharing your knowledge with both team members and guests. You'll also be trained in exhibition curatorial duty of care and guide your team in proper care for the exhibits., Assist the VA Exhibitions Manager with the scheduling of Hosts to ensure adequate staffing levels across the exhibits. Supporting the VA Exhibit Manager in the ongoing training and development of VA Exhibit Hosts. Audit and ordering of operating supplies in a timely manner. Ensuring visitor satisfaction, from admission through to departure. Develop a strong technical knowledge of the exhibits, their operation and how to trouble-shoot technical issues. Contribution to the development and evolution of the Exhibits across the Visitor Attraction. Build relationships with your colleagues in other department Assist in the further development of improved operating procedures within the exhibits. Assist in developing H&S and Emergency procedures across the VA department.

  • Previous experience within visitor attraction / heritage management or similar organisation
  • High customer service standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous team leader experience
  • Knowledge of modern exhibits management is preferable
