Full Job Description

As a band 6 trainee Emergency practitioner you will be enrolled in the fully funded successful regional minor injury and illness programme which is held on teams and surround hospitals around the Hampshire area to teach you how to manage minor injury and illness in adults and paediatric patients. furthermore, clinically you will be supervised, assessed and supported by very experienced emergency practitioners to to give on the job training assessment, investigation and procedural advice.

Working closely with members of the clinical, nursing, consultant and advanced clinical practitioner team the successful candidate should have significant emergency nursing experience.

a high level of competency in emergency skill including but not limited to wound closure and care, plastering, triage, health promotion and patient group directives.

evidence of involvement of quality improvement, education and change management within their job role.

It is expected that the right candidate is flexible to work a range of shifts covering the 24 hour period including weekends and public holidays.

During training a driving licence maybe useful to travel but not essential. no travelling is currently required post qualification

the candidate will need enhanced DBS and level three adult and child safeguarding training.

We welcome applications for the trainee post, this would be a band 6 role at a salary range of £37,338 - £44,962 per annum pro rata.

The emergency practitioner team within the emergency department has an exciting opportunity for an individual as an experienced or trainee emergency practitioner in minor injury and illness.

As a band 7 trained emergency practitioner, you will work alongside other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide minor injury and minor illness care within the emergency department. the successful candidate must be willing to continue or start a masters pathway in advanced practice and participate in department quality improvement and audit opportunities, as well as education and leadership roles to impart knowledge and expertise to other team members within and external to the department.

The emergency practitioner pathway is a great introduction into the clinical practitioner pathway in your career. there are many options available to complete masters and apprenticeship pathways once the right candidate has qualified as an emergency practitioner to develop your practitioner skills and clinical practice.
