Full Job Description

You will work alongside senior colleagues to implement new initiatives to continue to develop the service in line with best practice and clinical guidelines.,

  • To be a Specialist Physiotherapist delivering patient centred, caring therapy for Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust Hospital (RBFT). Clinical case load will mainly, though not exclusively, be in Neurological Rehabilitation.
  • To be professionally responsible for all aspects of your own work including the therapeutic management of patients in your care, with support from your supervisor.
  • To use your physiotherapy knowledge and skills to provide specialist support and advice to the multi-disciplinary team and to manage own caseload of patients as an autonomous practitioner.
  • To deliver a high quality, effective and efficient physiotherapy service in the Therapy team.
  • To be a member of the Therapy Department team, contributing to service development in Therapies and the Trust.
  • To deputise for the Band 7 clinical lead Physiotherapist as required.

    We are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity to come and join our team based at the Neuro Rehab Unit at West Berkshire Community Hospital in Thatcham. We are looking to employ a forward thinking, dynamic individual as a part time Band 6 Experienced Physiotherapist in Neuro Rehab.
  • The post is suitable for an experienced physiotherapist with past experience in Neurology. The post will be operating across the Neuro Rehab Unit, which works with individuals with a variety of complex needs. You will work within the wider Neurology Physiotherapy team with experienced senior staff and be responsible for a clinical caseload as well as for supervising and developing junior staff and students. You will work closely with the MDT and community teams. The successful applicant will have NHS experience within Neurological Inpatients and possess excellent assessment, clinical reasoning, treatment and teaching skills. You will have sound IT skills and demonstrate the Trust's values of Compassion, Aspiration, Resourcefulness and Excellence.,
  • Degree or other recognised qualification in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC Registered, NHS experience across all core rotations/areas, including neurological rehabilitation
  • Ability to carry out complex functional assessment and activity analysis
  • Specialist knowledge of current evidence based best practice in Physiotherapy and in particular neuro rehab
  • Desirable criteria
  • Member of relevant interest group, i.e. ACPIN
  • Relevant postgraduate study/courses in field of neuro rehab, IT skills, including electronic patient records, word processing and email
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Good communication skills, including ability to process/share complex information, and to deal with people who have difficulty communicating
  • Desirable criteria
  • Training and presentation skills, You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
