Looking for experienced waking night PA/carers to join an existing team. You would be supporting a client in her 50's living in Eastbourne, East Sussex with multiple complex health issues covering both mental and physical health. This post involves working closely with the client to manage her health issues and assist as needed. Heath issues will be covered in interview but include brittle asthma, diabetes, tonic-clonic epilepsy which can include multiple seizures, which can be unstable, CPTSD. All training will be provided but health conditions will require PA's to provide immediate care giving when needed., Personal grooming Eating and drinking assistance Moving and handling Clinical tasks Other relevant duties as required Administration Transportation Companionship Dressing / undressing Bathroom assistance Candidate qualities
ou will ideally have a full UK driving licence in case of emergency. An informal interview will be required where you will meet the client who requires the overnight care. Complex care experience required Applicants must be reliable, be flexible, have a good sense of humour, be able to maintain confidentiality, be sensitive to the needs of the client, be trustworthy, honest, be a good timekeeper, use their initiative, be able to work as part of a team and be able to work on their own when need be. Additional hours are available for all workers to cover when other workers are on annual leave, are sick or when extra cover is required. An interview, two references and a DBS will be required for this position. You must have business insurance in place on your car for work purposes. Previous experience/training in mental health is desirable but not essential as support and training is provided and a genuine interest of working in the care field for the foreseeable future. The applicant should have an ability to demonstrate sound boundaries and be a good timekeeper. As part of the job the successful applicant, if they would like, subject to funding, are able to undertake a level 3 Health and Social Care Diploma as part of their employment., Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality Reliable with good timekeeping Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative Hygienic, tidy and well organised Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills Honest and cheerful Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard Must be comfortable with pets Able to always work to high standards of health & safety Additional requirements Non-smoker due to medical reasons All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required. Depending on how the client is in general there will be a period where you will do things together and then depending on how well she is, you may be able to sleep for some periods during the night. However this is paid as a waking night and her health and monitoring of her health must be your first concern. There will be some personal care as needed . Hours are 10pm - 7am to cover 7 nights per week split between 2-3 people. Please be aware I have a cat and a dog. For those who do not want to commit to regular shifts we are also looking for bank PA's to cover days or nights Please do not apply if you do not have care experience as this client has complex health issues and you should have current or recent experience.
