Full Job Description

Freelancers are an integral part of the overall workforce at the BBC in on-air, off-air and business support capacities, enabling the creation of world class content. We have an exciting opportunity to join an enterprise-wide programme, working collaboratively with business teams across the BBC as well as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in specialist teams to optimise our international freelance engagements, review our ways of working and manage risk effectively.,

  • Process Analysis: Work alongside SMEs to evaluate and baseline current policies and processes for international freelance engagements

  • Gap Analysis and Future Planning: Identify existing gaps and establish future requirements, considering local legislative nuances

  • Risk Management: Utilise data insights to proactively pinpoint risks and collaborate with divisional teams and SMEs for effective mitigation and management

  • Strategic Alignment: Partner with the operations team to understand our business, ensuring strategies can be well-executed and delivered

  • Training and upskilling: Design and conduct comprehensive training to equip stakeholders with necessary knowledge throughout the engagement lifecycle

  • In-depth knowledge: A robust understanding of people and finance processes, policies, and risks specific to international freelance engagements in the media industry

  • International Legal Expertise: Hands-on experience with international tax and employment law, particularly as they relate to freelance engagements

  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving abilities that blend creativity with practicality to devise effective solutions

  • Process Optimisation Experience: A track record of process discovery and consolidation within complex, matrixed organizations.

  • Change Leadership: Strong project planning, management and delivery skills, with proven experience in driving change, implementing strategies on time, and juggling multiple priorities.

  • Analytical Acumen: Strong analytical capabilities to distill complex concepts into clear, actionable strategies

  • Communication Excellence: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to engage successfully with a diverse array of stakeholders.
