Full Job Description

Freelancers are an integral part of the overall workforce at the BBC in on-air, off-air and business support capacities, enabling the creation of world class content. We have an exciting opportunity to join this team as a Senior Resourcing Advisor. The role works collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to understand and advise on their contingent workforce needs in order to ensure they have the resources in place to meet their objectives., You will be responsible for consistently assessing engagement requests by using existing frameworks in line with our compliance standards. You'll provide advice and recommendations on policy and approaches, manage the risk of individual cases, and act as a point of escalation for complex queries that cannot be resolved at Advisor or Administrator level.

To support this, you'll ensure full, accurate audit trails are centrally recorded to ensure high compliance standards are met, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
You will also work closely with your peers and management to proactively keep commercial awareness up to date (including employment law, tax legislation etc) to ensure the BBC's processes and approaches are up to date and compliant.

In addition to this, you will also:

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and simplification of existing practices, and work with management to implement positive change

  • Support change initiatives to the end to end Contingent Workforce process, including stakeholder management

  • Be the go-to expert for complex queries, managing individual cases, and mitigating risks. Your attention to detail will maintain our high compliance standards.

  • Help manage the relationship with the wider business community, and collaborate on service improvement suggestions

  • Collaborate with peers and management to stay informed about employment law, tax legislation, and industry trends. This knowledge ensures our processes remain up-to-date and compliant.

  • Assist with assessing training needs within team and delivering training where required

  • Contribute to a culture of service excellence and support continuous improvement by bringing insights into the organisation to identify opportunities, risks and priorities

  • Interpret policy and legislation to advise on complex issues across the Contingent Workforce lifecycle such as: engagement mechanisms, employment status, contract clauses, benefits, rights, and entitlements

    Knowledge of regulatory and statutory requirements for freelancers

  • Familiarity with employment and tax law

  • Ability to interpret and advise on policy and best practice

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

  • An interest in compliance and audit across diverse populations.
