Full Job Description

We are looking for an External Affairs Officer to join our External Affairs, Public Affairs and Campaigns team (within Which?'s Advocacy Department). You will help to develop and deliver stakeholder engagement plans to enable Which? to influence key external stakeholders (including businesses, trade associations, regulators and government) to drive positive change for consumers, and help to ensure the smooth running of the External Affairs Team.,

  • Build and maintain a network of key stakeholder contacts to gather intelligence and influence their actions in line with Which? organisational priorities and keep our stakeholder engagement database up to date.
  • Support the development and delivery of proactive plans to influence key stakeholders (businesses, trade associations, civil servants, regulators and other stakeholders) and position Which? favourably to enable us to drive positive change for consumers - with support from wider colleagues.
  • Support colleagues by managing and attending meetings with key stakeholders, including taking and circulating meeting notes.
  • Review and distribute Which? press releases and other materials e.g. reports to key stakeholders. This includes preparing and managing stakeholder lists and reviewing details of press releases / other materials including language/tone.
  • Manage day to day reactive queries and comments from key stakeholders on Which?'s editorial, press, campaigns and policy work and where needed, draft correspondence (e.g. letter) responses for Which?'s CEO and Leadership Team members, with support from team members.
  • Support the smooth running of the External Affairs Team by taking on key process improvement projects and other administrative tasks, as needed.

    We're looking for someone who is great at building relationships and influencing stakeholders as well as great organisational skills. You will need to be able to cultivate a good network of relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and have a passion for delivering meaningful change. We are looking for someone who has a keen eye for detail and who has good verbal and written communications skills.
