Full Job Description

We're looking for a proactive PR and campaigns expert to join Starbucks EMEA. This is a unique opportunity to join the Starbucks Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Corporate Affairs team and partner closely with Global Communications and Corporate Affairs, EMEA Marketing, PRO (HR) and other functions in the business to craft compelling campaigns that bring that brand to life. The corporate affairs teams have responsibility and ownership for driving key narratives about the Starbucks brand and bringing these to life through integrated communication campaigns across internal and external channels for a wide range of audiences. We're looking for a highly motivational and experienced leader to play an integral role within the EMEA Corporate Affairs team and the wider EMEA business. You will be a change-agent and responsible for driving impactful work in close collaboration with EMEA Marketing and specialist agency partners. To deliver effectively, you will be a thought leader with experience developing teams, influencing stakeholders and driving change in a fast moving, entrepreneurial environment. You will be creative too and will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of the evolving cultural landscape. With an in-depth understanding of media relations, government affairs/ stakeholder engagement, digital/social channels and partner (employee) engagement you will have a strong track record creating and delivering campaigns - including with third parties - that have made a measurable impact. You will also excel at relationship building and the management of diverse teams from across the region. With an EMEA-wide remit, this partner will need to have experience and passion for working with markets elsewhere in EMEA, in addition to the UK. This leader will be responsible for managing key relationships on behalf of the team, including building relationships with senior management within the region's largest licensees and working with the EMEA Integrated Communications Senior Manager to maintain in-depth insight into market-level activities, to enable the creation of multi-market campaigns across the region. This leader will also be responsible for appointing and overseeing the work of agencies in addition to managing budgets. Furthermore, this leader will need to be adept at directing the expansion of external communications infrastructure within the EMEA region, overseeing the work of the Campaigns & Digital Senior Manager in this area, and partnering with marketing to further develop the reach of EMEA's digital channels to drive further amplification. Finally, this partner will act as the deputy for the Director of Corporate Affairs as required and flex into press office work as required by the team and support with partner communications/ events as required. What you'll do:

  • Leading on external and internal campaigns and proactive communications initiatives across the EMEA region, in collaboration with Marketing teams and in alignment with wider Global communication plans
  • Leveraging data, such as market insight and third-party collaboration, to develop campaigns
  • Acting as an ambassador for an iconic global brand with proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior external thought leaders and a wide range of crucial internal stakeholders
  • Collaborating closely within a matrix style organisation, including direct partnership with marketing and legal functions, to drive the development and delivery of impactful EMEA-wide earned, social and partner (employee) initiatives campaigns, always-on communication plans, messaging and assets
  • Building strong relationships with licensee senior leaders to drive campaign delivery and storytelling
  • Directing the ongoing development of impactful external communications infrastructure across the EMEA region
  • Managing diverse and multidisciplinary agency teams and budgets
  • Experienced line manager, mentoring and coaching a direct team

    Seasoned leader with significant experience leading proactive campaigns, government affairs and issues management work together with marketing in either an agency or global in-house environment
  • A change-maker and impactful leader, able to influence key stakeholders and drive forward new initiatives in a fast-moving environment
  • Operates as a respected business partner, driving strategic communications, programs, providing valuable counsel, advice and appropriate pushback
  • Technology savvy with ability to harness new media effectively, with a keen understanding of all types of media and channels that will engage external and internal audiences
