External Examiner for EAP / TESOL

The International English Centre at Aberystwyth University is looking for an external examiner, starting in academic year 2024/25. Appointments are for 4 years.
The external examiner will focus on the English for Academic Purposes assessments on the International Foundation course, as well as undergraduate modules in TESOL and Academic Skills.
Candidates should:
1. hold, no more than two external examiner appointments for taught schemes at any point in time.
2. hold or, have previously held, a co-ordinator role in the area of English for Academic Purposes (i.e. - Foundation or in-/pre-sessional) and/or Academic Skills

3. have relevant and recent experience of designing assessments at Foundation or Pre-sessional level and/or Academic Skills for in-sessional provision
4. have a relevant qualification in TESOL (e.g. - successful completion of DELTA/Trinity Diploma or equivalent)
5. have experience of working in the field of teacher education/training in TESOL, 6. be aware of current developments in the design and delivery of curricula in EAP and Academic Skills
7. be aware of current developments in TESOL and ELT
8. not have worked or studied at Aberystwyth University in the last five years
9. have previous experience as an external examiner
