Extra Care Manager
Redwood Glades, Leads Road, Hull
£43,367 per annum
Redwood Glades is a unique Extra Care service that will provide you with the opportunity to truly impact the lives of the community living here. With 156 apartments, a staffed café and even a hairdressing salon, no day is ever the same and you will be challenged to ensure every client is engaged, supported and is able to live their best life.
The dynamic Extra Care provision specialises in supporting people over 18 living in their own self-contained home with multiple needs, including caring for the elderly, mental health, dementia, learning disability, physical disability, and substance use.
As the Extra Care Manager, you will lead the large team to drive best practice ensuring all staff have the skills, training and tools required to carry out the roles passionately and with a person-centred focus.

People Management
+ Excellent line management of direct reports (Deputy Managers/ Team Leaders)
+ Ability to lead and motivate others in the achievement of agreed goals and objectives within required timescales.
+ Ensure all policies and procedures are maintained to evidence assurance of effective management and implementation of the Extra Care Service.
+ Ensuring the team deliver person centred care and support, through promoting independence of wishes/ preferences and needs.
+ Ensuring all staff are trained and developed to meet the standards of governed requirements of CQC/ Hull City Council & Internal Quality Assurance Framework.
+ Provide support to staff and encourage accountability and ownership of the roles.
+ Key Stakeholder relationships to build and maintain for a collaborative and effective Extra Care service delivery. This will be in line with Hull City Council Extra Care Framework., + Working with onsite Housing Provider to optimise property performance through effective allocations and assessments.
+ Engage and collaborate in partnership with clients, commissioners and stakeholders to maximise Extra Care Service partnership working.
+ Proactively address Complaints, Safeguarding issues and procedures to ensure safety and satisfaction for all clients.
+ Ensure all staff are trained and compliant with emergency protocols, following Health & Safety Guidance and Policies in collaboration with Housing Provider.
+ Ensure best practice is shared.
Financial Management
+ Responsible for care related budget management, through scrutiny of agreed Key performance indicator monitoring (including direct & indirect costs, staffing)
+ Ensure clients safety and wellbeing in line with financial management support, signposting where necessary.
Care, Support and Quality Oversight
+ As the Extra care manager, taking the lead on Quality, recruitment and execution of exceptional standards of care.
+ Clear guidance to staff teams on the full utilisation of living in Extra Care.
+ Provide oversight of key care and support systems to monitor effective rostering, staffing and time management of service delivery.
+ Knowledge & Understanding of CQC regulations and the running specifically of an Extra Care Service.
+ Experience of working closely with clients, assessing their needs and delivering care that helps each person to live a fuller, independent life.
