We currently have opportunities in medical specialities (including elderly medicine) there may be some flexibility about choice of specialities but mainly the specialities that will be offered are based on the gaps within the service. The post will include out of hours cover for all medical and elderly specialities including our acute admissions unit. Our commitments to you would be: + A fixed term contract initially of up to 12 months potentially extendable by mutual agreement. + ST/CT1 (MT03) or FY2 pay(dependant on appointment to FY2 or FY3 role) with enhancements equivalent to doctors in training determined by the agreed rota; other terms and conditions will also mirror those for doctors in training. + Training opportunities and study leave entitlement. + A supervisor. + An e-portfolio if required. + GMC connection to the Trust and Responsible Officer. + An appraisal if required.Working for our organisation Airedale is a small acute general hospital and community Foundation Trust with an excellent reputation for medical staff training and education. We are proud to be an associated teaching hospital of Leeds School of Medicine; we provide clinical placements in a wide range of specialties for doctors in training from foundation to specialist trainee level and we are host employer for the Airedale GP Training Programme.
- 2 YEARS NHS EXPERIENCE IS ESSENTIAL We would welcome applications from doctors taking a break from training following completion of foundation training or equivalent; either because you are out of phase, planning to take a break from training for part of the year or looking for some alternative experience prior to deciding/commencing specialty training. Applications are welcomed from those who have successfully completed Foundation Year 2 as a minimum. Less than full time (LTFT) applications will be considered but this will normally require a proportionate share of out of hours shifts.
At Airedale, we are committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion. We actively encourage applications irrespective of people's age, lived experience of living with a disability or long-term conditions, gender, race or ethnicity, religion or belief, sexual orientation, or other personal circumstances. Increasing our diversity and supporting our organisation to be more inclusive is a key priority here at Airedale and our teams are at the centre of how we work towards this. We appreciate all people may have diverse and individual needs and we pride ourselves on supporting all people to thrive and flourish at work. We have frameworks in place that support reasonable adjustments and flexible working for colleagues throughout their working lives which starts at recruitment. These are exciting times for Airedale. We have the once-in-a-career opportunity to be involved in the planning and building of a completely new hospital here on our Steeton site by 2030. By joining us now you'll be a key part of our journey over the next few years, with the chance to input into a state-of-the-art, modern healthcare facility that will deliver care to our communities for decades to come. We are also on the journey to a new electronic patient record, part of our wider ambition for our digital future - a future that builds on our significant telemedicine and digital care success. Ultimately, what makes Airedale special is our people. Not just our staff, but our volunteers, patients, visitors, and wider population who make up the Airedale family. This is a Trust that sits at the heart of our community, and our communities are very proud of their Trust.
