Full Job Description

Kettering General Hospital are in the process of recruiting roles at our newly renovated site, Spinneyfields in Rushden. We pride ourselves on maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our patients and staff.
We are seeking dedicated and positive Facilities Assistants who can work flexible shift patterns across the week and alternate weekends.
The role will consist of a mixture of Housekeeping, Catering and light Portering duties.
Catering - You will be part of a team that provides meals to our patients. The post holders will be expected to carry out duties to include stock management, checking in deliveries, providing food for patients, cleaning and dealing with waste. The post holder will ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with the Food Safety Management System and HACCP.
Housekeeping - You will be performing cleaning duties according to cleaning schedules, agreed practices and protocols as guided by the supervisory team. To undertake these duties across the site in both clinical and non-clinical areas. Working to the Trust standards, protocols and guidelines ensuring a clean and safe environment in line with the National Standards of Cleanliness (NSC) in the NHS.
Portering - The post will also include other duties such as the collection and delivery of equipment, post, medical gasses, linen, and waste movements.

In submitting an application form, you authorise Kettering General Hospital (KGH) NHS Foundation Trust to confirm any previous NHS service details via the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) Inter Authority Transfer (IAT) process. Including factual reference, occupational health clearance and statutory and mandatory training record.
If you need to have a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check, as a requirement of the role, you will be required to repay the cost of obtaining a DBS check (£50) and this amount will be reclaimed from your first salary. From 1st February 2019 all new starters to the Trust are required to join the DBS update service as per Trust DBS Re-checking Policy which has an annual cost of £13. New employees who do not join the update service will be required to pay £50 for a new DBS check in 3 years time.
Please note that news starters with KGH are subject to a six month probationary period.
