We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Facilities Assistant who has good customer services skills, can problem solve and has a very proactive approach in contributing to the maintenance and upkeep of buildings, plant, equipment and fleet including aspects of Health & Safety (H&S), across the SEROCU estate. Additionally, the successful candidate will be competent in undertaking general maintenance tasks and be confident in the use of hand and power tools.
Candidates will be required to be physically fit to be able to carry out tasks such as manual handling, working off ladders and accessing areas with limited accessibility (plant rooms). All the relevant training will be provided to ensure safe working.
Reporting to the Regional Facilities Manager the post holder will assist with the carrying out and recording of legislative checks and tests, such as fire alarm tests, water temperature and firefighting equipment checks. Previous experience in a facilities/building management role is required.
There is a requirement to cover an on call rota so we are looking for somebody who can be flexible in their working hours and happy to travel to different locations across the South East region. A full (manual) driving licence is therefore essential to this role
Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level SC together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.
