Facilities Inspector (Electrical) - If you are a dedicated and skilled Construction ControlInspector with a passion for excellence, we invite you to join our team at the United States AirForce, 48th Civil Engineer Squadron, RAF LakenheathWe are looking for someone with knowledge and experience in performing inspections on avariety of structures.Why RAF Lakenheath:Located in the heart of Suffolk, RAF Lakenheath is home to the 48th Civil Engineer Squadron.This base is pivotal in maintaining international security and fostering strong alliances betweenthe US and UK. Our team is dedicated to excellence, innovation, and the highest standards ofoperational readiness., You will be responsible to perform inspections on a variety of complicated structures involvingdifficult and complex construction; or inspections of a major segment of a difficult and complexproject involving sophisticated mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems and equipment. In thisposition you will ensure the following, but this is not limited to, contractor compliance withapproved plans and specifications for various constructions contracts, prepare documents andreports, obtain samples from work sites and forward to laboratory testing, review plans andspecifications for accuracy and completeness. You may frequently require travelling away fromthe normal duty station. Your hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week Monday to Fridayfrom 0730-1600 where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in,

  • Performs inspection and surveillance of difficult and complex construction projects.
  • Performs duties as a technical consultant to the relevant agencies.
  • Performs duties related to inspection of facilities, utilities, equipment and materials and
  • maintain sustainment management systems.
  • Gathers information to compile into written inspection reports, updates sustainment
  • management systems and performs related duties.

    As the Facilities Inspector (Electrical) you will have knowledge of construction inspectionpractices and procedures involved in the inspection of building materials, workmanship, utilities,and the installation of systems; and the practical methods and techniques of engineeringprinciples relating to complex construction practices and procedures. Tou will have theknowledge of electrical, mechanical, water, fuels, and structural aspects of major constructionprojects and existing facilities, and knowledge of inspection and safety practices and proceduresin the construction industry, as well as knowledge of engineering and architectural plans andspecifications to read and interpret construction requirements. You will also show knowledge ofconstruction trades, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry as well as have the ability tocommunicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Qualification requirements:
  • A valid CAT B driving license is required.
  • Basic requirement for this position is specialized experience in the area OR a
  • combination of Education and Training HND/HNC/BTEC, City and Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent qualifications in an appropriate discipline, together with a minimum of three year's work experience in the trade.You will need to be flexible as it may be required for you to work overtime or holidays on shortnotice.All successful applicants will require a security clearance and a right to work in the UK.
