Full Job Description

The facilities department employ a variety of support staff to help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment. As a Facilities Management Assistant you will provide a range of tasks which will primarily involve catering food preparation duties. You will be required to prepare and serve meals within our in-patient areas. The duties may also include the cleaning of clinical and non-clinical areas and portering as required.

The post will be based at Rathbone Hospital.

20 hours per week, Monday to Friday (2.30pm - 6.30pm)

The role of the Facilities Management Assistant (FMA) remains an integral part of our service delivery, carrying out a range of facilities tasks and ensuring that catering and cleaning standards are achieved and maintained.

Applications are invited from hard working, self-motivated individuals who are able to work on their own initiative and also as part of a team. You must have a flexible approach to your workload, be able to work to deadlines and have high standards of quality in your work.

You will need to demonstrate an understanding of the need to deal with service users and staff in a helpful and supportive manner. You must have good communication skills, a positive attitude and an understanding of health and safety in relation to safe working practices.

Previous experience of hospital catering and cleaning duties and specifically a catering provision within a mental health environment would be an advantage, however, training will be provided. You will be expected to have or acquire an appropriate Food Hygiene certificate and must have basic computer skills.
