Full Job Description

This is a static based Facilities Manager (FM) role providing a service to our client at Essex County Council, at their flagship office - County Hall. The FM will be responsible for the successful management of the sites facilities services, cleaning and landscaping delivery teams

Objectives:

-To successfully take responsibility for and manage service delivery, and issues resolutions for the buildings on the County Hall complex.

-Working in partnership with the MITIE senior contract team ensure delivery of the account service plan, and performance to account targets and budgets are achieved/exceeded.

-Manage key activities to ensure profits are maximised, risks are minimised, compliance to customer and industry standards.

-Maintain, develop and enhance both current and new customer and stakeholder relationships .

-Ensure the highest level of commitment, awareness and results on QHSE issues

-To successfully manage the sites soft service delivery teams, within the agreed job role parameters, and to ensure compliance with contract requirements.

Main Duties:

-To support and deputise as required for the Regional Facilities Manager (RFM)

-Complete governance of all contract activities across the region.

-To pro-actively demonstrate and work to the Company's values of People, Passion, Fresh Thinking and Exciting Futures.

-To efficiently and cost effectively manage and develop the site portfolio.

-Continuous improvement attitude which welcomes change and focuses on delivery and exceeding customer expectation both internally and externally;

-Establish and manage site and area escalation procedures to ensure an effective response;

-To manage and develop a professional and effective operational team, ensuring objectives are set, monitored and achieved and that all employees are appraised and have a personal development plan;

-Establish and maintain effective contingency planning;

-To manage all necessary induction, operational risk scenarios, and safety training requirements across the areas of responsibility;

-To meet and/or exceed financial targets including but not limited to WIP, debt and GRN process;

-To assist with the management of site budgets to target;

-To build positive and productive working relationships with all customers, delivering excellent customer service and seeking ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations;

-To monitor and control supplier, sub-contractor and labour costs;

-To manage the ordering, delivery and set up of specialist furniture for the ECC client as outlined by Access to Work and Occupational Health reports;

-Ensure all Access to Work resources are managed in a timely manner, communicating with the customer, other ECC agencies and the Mitie Facilities Manager for the delivery site

Holds relevant professional, technical or management qualifications or / and has relevant experience;

-Ability to recognise and understand risk - commercial, operational and legislative;

-Can demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality systems and the management of safe systems of work associated with the role and work environment;

-Able to represent MITIE effectively at both internal and external meetings;

-Have experience of budget setting and financial management;

-IOSH Managing Safely/ NEBOSH National General Certificate In Health & Safety

-ILM Level 3 or IWFM Level 4 Facilities Management or equivalent by experience
