Full Job Description

  • Overseeing the maintenance, repair and improvement of building fabric. Ensuring all building fabric is well maintained, functional and in line with regulatory standards and company policies
  • Leading a small team of handymen, assigning tasks, providing guidance and ensuring completion of tasks, as well as developing the skillsets of the handyman team to support the evolving needs of the business
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulations and company policies relating to building safety, fire regulations and environmental requirements and conducting regular inspections of equipment, systems and building infrastructure
  • Identifying opportunities for improving maintenance efficiency, reducing operational costs and optimising the use of resources - exploring new technologies or methods to enhance building performance
  • Liaising with third party contractors, ensuring high quality service delivery and negotiating contracts for maintenance services, supplies and technical expertise as needed
  • As part of our succession planning strategy, taking a proactive role in expanding the scope of responsibilities to include managing technical services, providing technical expertise and leadership for large projects, repairs or renovations

    Experience of working as part of a team in a similar role/industry
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
  • Excellent knowledge of health, safety and compliance standards with budgeting and financial management capabilities
