Full Job Description

Part time 30 hours per week
The purpose of the job is to monitor, audit and report the facilities services'
standards across Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust (PCFT)'s sites. This will involve carrying out audits and writing audit reports. The majority of audits will relate to cleaning services, as per the standards in the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness (NSoHC), but the postholder may be required to support with other audits across the department. To achieve this, the postholder will be required to attend each site as per the NSoHC frequencies to carry out the audits, which include in-patient wards, community clinics and offices across the trust footprint. The postholder will ensure all aspects of the standards are kept up-to-date, such as updating the star ratings.
The postholder will also need to write a monthly assurance report for Trust senior management, as the Trust's assurance towards NHS standards and requirements. The postholder will be responsible for creating, distributing and managing action plans following each audit and reporting completion/assurance to the relevance governance meetings alongside any trends. The postholder shall have good communication with site leads and domestic and estates teams to resolve any areas of concern or failure for rectification.,

  • To carry out cleanliness audits across Trust sites as per the frequencies set out in the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness. Sites will include in-patient wards and community sites to audit a range of different elements as set in the standards.

  • To complete a report following each audit.

  • To ensure all areas for monitoring are carried out within the timescale required.

  • To liaise with Site Leads, clinical leads and estates and facilities colleagues to ensure that all failures are rectified.

  • To manage all actions following the audits by creating, distributing and managing all outstanding, and escalating any issues through the correct escalation process.

  • To submit a monthly assurance report for inclusion and discussion at the IPC Committee.

  • To manage and plan diary to audit all sites alongside site and estates representatives within deadlines.

  • To keep the star rating posters etc. up-to-date at each site/ward.

  • To ensure any changes are updated on the auditing tools., All of our new starters, who are appointed to a post which requires a Disclosure Barring Certificate check (DBS), will be recharged for the full cost of the check (DBS checks for volunteers are free of charge).

  • An enhanced DBS check costs £38 and a standard check costs £18 (plus an administration charge of £3.50). If you are a substantive member of staff, the full amount will be taken from your first month's salary.
    If you are a member of staff on our bank, you will need to repay the full amount from your first salary.
    We encourage you to register with the DBS update service at an annual cost of £13 (this is mandatory for bank staff).
