Job Title: Facilities Operative
Salary: from £19,000 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time
Hours: 25 hours per week
Location: Allied Bakeries, 1 Vanwall Place, Maidenhead, Berkshire, England, SL6 4UF

We are seeking a Facilities Operative to join our diverse workforce, supporting a large blue-chip customer base that includes banks, retailers, hospitals, schools, and government offices. In this role, you will be responsible for managing deliveries, ensuring site safety and security by locking up and setting alarms, and maintaining workplace cleanliness, including loading and unloading dishwashers. You will also check that customer signage is current and presentable, receive waste for disposal, and handle waste appropriately. Additionally, you will complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks as your skills allow, assist the assistant facilities manager with various duties, and uphold high housekeeping standards.

You will manage and implement local site policies and compliance, identify areas for improvement, and conduct daily inspections of site plants and water systems as required. Proficiency with the technical services MiJobs PDA for logging timesheets and booking third-party supplier collection services is essential. Punctuality and reliability in arriving for your scheduled shifts are also critical.

The ideal candidate will possess a customer-focused approach, a reliable and responsible attitude, and a flexible mindset for handling daily tasks and ad-hoc duties. Effective communication skills are necessary for interacting with clients and colleagues, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a larger team. This hands-on position may be physically demanding and requires strong literacy and numerical skills, along with good organizational abilities.

Health and safety responsibilities include adhering to company policies and procedures, reporting any deficiencies in systems or equipment, using work equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly, and addressing any training needs with your line manager. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with information security procedures and proactively identify and report any security risks or incidents to your manager.
