Full Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Newham/East London to assist with the appointment of a Facilities Operative, for an immediate start., Building Maintenance:
Conduct routine inspections of the library building and grounds.
Identify and report maintenance issues to relevant personnel.
Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as fixing leaks, changing light bulbs, and clearing blockages.
Cleaning and Sanitation:
Maintain a clean and hygienic environment throughout the library.
Clean and sanitize public areas, restrooms, and staff areas.
Empty trash and recycling bins regularly.
Clean and maintain library furniture and equipment.
Security:
Monitor security systems and report any irregularities.
Conduct regular security patrols of the building and grounds.
Ensure the building is secure at the end of each day.
Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service to library patrons.
Assist patrons with inquiries and direct them to appropriate resources.
Resolve minor customer issues and complaints.
Administrative Tasks:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and cleaning tasks.
Assist with inventory control and stock management.
Follow established procedures and guidelines.

You should have right to work in U.K
This position requires an enhanced DBS check

Knowledge of building and grounds maintenance.
Experience in handyman tasks.
Understanding of health and safety procedures.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work varying hours, including evenings and weekends.
