Location: Bradford Academy Hours: 37 hours per week Holidays: 27 days per year plus bank holidays & 2 week Christmas closure Contract Type: Full-time - permanent (6 Month Probationary Period) Reporting to: Site and Facilities Director About Bradford Academy: Bradford Academy is a Church of England Academy committed to developing responsibility, respect, and resilience in our community. We serve children from age 2 to 18 and are dedicated to their spiritual, personal, and academic growth. Job Description: The Facilities Supervisor will support the Site and Facilities Director in ensuring the Academy is safe, operational, and set up to allow the highest standard of teaching and learning. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining the general school premises, building fabric, fixtures, and fittings.
  • Carrying out small repairs and DIY projects.
  • Arranging larger repairs and obtaining quotes from contractors.
  • Advising on site development projects and making recommendations on site use.
  • Leading Health and Safety initiatives and ensuring compliance.
  • Supervising the completion of Academy Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and site compliance checks.
  • Performing general labouring duties including portering, grounds upkeep, and assisting contractors.
  • Using Building Management Systems (BMS) to identify issues and control operations.
  • Ensuring the continuing availability of supplies, services, and grounds maintenance.
  • Monitoring the safe and efficient operation of school transport.
  • Person Specification:
  • Essential: Ability to work in accordance with good health & safety and manual handling practices, excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, highly organised, and the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Desirable: Previous experience in security, estates/facilities, and front-line customer service work, intermediate Office Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook), and willingness to undertake health and safety training.
  • Professional Development: The successful candidate will be responsible for their professional development, keeping up-to-date with health and safety and operational training requirements, and taking part in further training and development.
