Full Job Description

  • This position is available from 15 November 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter, and is open to academic staff within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures only.
  • Can you provide the vision, creativity and initiative to lead a key area of work needed to successfully deliver the strategy for Student Education? Are you passionate about delivering an exceptional student experience in an international and interdisciplinary context? The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures (AHC) is looking to appoint an Academic Lead for Opportunity, to include academic leadership on Employability, Industry and Study Abroad. As a Faculty Academic Lead in Student Education, you will have the leadership skills, ambition and creativity to take forward the development of this significant area of the Faculty's student education work and to lead on delivery against institutional KPIs for Graduate Outcomes. The Academic Lead for Opportunity will work closely with the Pro Deans for Student Education (PDSEs), and other leads including the leads for Global Campus Experience, the Faculty's External Development Group and PRIA. They will drive a strong vision and strategy for student opportunity in the Faculty of AHC. The Lead will work closely with the Student Education Service (SES) Employability team and the Study Abroad office, will chair relevant Faculty committees, lead the team of School Employability, Placements and Study Abroad Leads and represent the Faculty at relevant University groups. You will thrive on working collaboratively in a busy and dynamic environment to enhance the reputation of the Faculty with a focus on quality and excellence. You will have a track record of excellence in student education, especially experience in student opportunity, combined with excellent skills in team working and collaboration.
