Full Job Description

We are seeking an Expert by Experience & Family Ambassador Lead to play a key role in shaping and improving the experience of children, young people, and their families within our mental health services. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to co-production efforts, ensuring the voices of parents and families are heard, valued, and integrated into the care we provide. In this role, you will support parents and carers of young people in CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) inpatient care, guiding them through the process and advocating for improvements to service quality and outcomes. TheThames Valley Specialised Children and Young People Mental Health Services Provider Collaborative is a partnership of NHS organisations dedicated to transforming mental health services for children and young people across the Thames Valley. Led by Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, we work in collaboration with Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust to deliver high-quality, locally-based mental health care that meets the needs of young people and their families. Our mission is to make mental health care more connected, accessible, and responsive. By collaborating across organizations, we aim to provide care closer to home, reduce inpatient admissions, and ensure young people receive the right care when and where they need it., In this role, you will facilitate and support a community of practice for Experts by Experience and Family Ambassadors. This involves fostering collaboration, encouraging shared learning, and ensuring that the voices of families and young people are integrated into the ongoing development of services. You will also work closely with Case Managers, Quality Leads, and other equivalent roles within the Provider Collaborative. By linking with these key individuals, you will help provide additional support for children and young people when concerns arise, ensuring that their needs are addressed in a timely and effective manner. Furthermore, you will partner with the Senior Clinical Pathway Manager and Quality Lead to hold the system accountable for delivering high-quality care for families and parents. Together, you will work to ensure that services are continuously improving and that families receive the support they need throughout their journey. With a strong focus on quality, safeguarding, and governance, we aim to ensure that every young person receives the support they need within their local community, linking up services and creating a seamless care experience.
