Full Job Description

Engage children, young people, and families to ensure consistent access to early education and statutory education as needed.
Conduct direct and emergency work with families, involving them in goal-setting and actively working toward outcomes outlined in their plans.
Build and maintain strong relationships with other local service providers.
Promote healthy lifestyles, positive relationships, and safe parenting practices in ways that respect families' cultural identities.
Work closely with other agencies to provide and coordinate targeted support for families.
Refer families to appropriate agencies to promote positive life outcomes and opportunities.
Deliver evidence-based group sessions and interventions.
Perform other duties as appropriate for the role's level.

Professional Responsibilities:
Financial Management: Ensure efficient, cost-effective service delivery and compliance with budgetary allocations.

People Management: Adhere to and implement People Management policies.

Equalities: Maintain a strong commitment to equality and anti-discriminatory practices.

Climate Change: Support the Council's climate strategy by encouraging energy conservation.

Health and Safety: Ensure a safe work environment in line with the Council's policies.

Safeguarding: Uphold a commitment to safeguarding vulnerable groups.

Minimum NVQ Level 3 in working with children and families, or equivalent experience.
PTLLS or an equivalent teaching qualification.

Knowledge and Experience:
Significant experience working with children, families, or caregivers in a relevant role.
Understanding of child development and the impact of trauma, with knowledge of strategies to mitigate these effects.
Awareness of Safeguarding policies for both children and adults.
Knowledge of relevant legislation impacting children's welfare and education.
Familiarity with support options for families with specific needs, such as SEND.
Experience in working with multi-agency teams and delivering targeted, evidence-based parenting programs.
Skills
Effective communication tailored to the audience.
Ability to initiate positive change in challenging situations.
Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
Time management skills, with an ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Flexible approach to meet the needs of children, youth, and their families.
Full driving license with access to a vehicle for work-related tasks.
