About the team and role
Warwickshire Family Information Service (FIS) provides information advice and guidance on a wide range of subjects to families and professionals working with families in Warwickshire. The role of FIS differs across the country; in Warwickshire we work very closely with professionals both within and outside the council to ensure families receive the information and support they need at the earliest possible opportunity to prevent escalation of need.
The brokerage role works on a one-to-one basis to offer practical support to families, removing barriers to enable them to access the support that is available to them. This role will involve working with dispersed asylum-seeking families to support their integration into the local community. This will include maintaining a close working relationship with Warwickshire's Migration Team who have over 7 years experience of supporting newly arrived communities. Additionally, they have recently created a dedicated team to support the Asylum effort within Warwickshire by working closely with services to ensure families can access support within their local community.

The successful candidate needs to be able work pro-actively and independently and have a wide knowledge of the services available to families.

We are looking for professional people with a good knowledge of the information and support needs, and services that provide these needs for families living in Warwickshire. Due to the nature of the role you will need to be flexible and adaptable with the ability to think on your feet.
Whilst working as part of team, you will be expected to manage your own time and travel effectively across Warwickshire to deliver the service. Access to your own transport and business insurance is essential to this role., The Fluency Duty is outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers. The Fluency Duty for this role is Required. You must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.
