Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Early Help Service; we are seeking to recruit experienced, enthusiastic, motivated family intervention worker, to supervise family time between Cared For Children and their birth Family Members and who are passionate about meeting children's needs and seeking great outcomes for children and their families.

As part of the team you will work flexible across 7 days, on a rota basis working between the hours of 8am to 8pm daily.

The role is to ensure quality Family time between Children and their birth family is delivered using evidence based interventions. Family time is encouraged within centres but also within the local community using local facilities to ensure lasting positive memories for families. The successful candidates will be expected to take a lead or key role in working with families, working in partnership to challenge and negotiate traditional organizational boundaries for ensure the best outcomes are achieved for children and young people.

Candidates must have excellent communication skills which will enable them, to undertake effective family engagement which builds on a family's strength and coping strategies, incorporating a strong degree of challenge for families to change, supporting and enabling them to resolve multiple and complex difficulties leading to sustainable change.

Previous experience of working with Cared for Children and their families in a social care environment would be an advantage.

You will need to have good knowledge of Child Development, Attachment theories, Assessing parenting capacity and the importance of the benefits of promoting and managing supervised Family Time.

A strong knowledge and experience of assess, plan, do, and review to ensure quality provision is provided to families while using the Signs of Safety model in planning family time and interventions is required. You will need the ability to form strong working relationships with a range of professionals, parents, children and Young People. You will need to be emotionally resilient and possess the ability to manage your time, prioritise, and organise your workload effectively.

You will work with Family intervention workers within the Early Help service, including Tameside Families Together, Child Protection and Edge of Care., Our employees' skills, experience and knowledge are essential to our success along with their happiness, wellbeing, commitment, enthusiasm and motivation to be the best they can be., This post requires an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

This post is a designated customer facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English in the person specification.
