Full Job Description

A fabulous Family PA role has become available for an experienced, person to look after the home of a friendly family of four: two full time working parents and two happy girls aged 12 and 7. The family live in St Albans, Hertfordshire. Your role will be to keep this busy home, clean and organised and be responsible for childcare in the afternoon and holidays. The hours of the role will be: Term Time (34 weeks) - 11.00 - 19.00 (8 hours/day) School Holidays (18 weeks) - 07.30 - 18.30 (11 hours/day) Your salary will be paid evenly across the year. The family is active, enjoying being outdoors and all kinds of sport. The girls also like arts and crafts and baking. As well as engaging with the children in their hobbies and interests, working with the children to help with homework, encouraging good manners, behaviour and healthy eating will also be part of the childcare role. During term time, you will collect the youngest girl from the school bus stop each day, prepare family meals and oversee homework for the youngest. The older girl independently arrives home from school and manages her own homework. The girls are looking for an intelligent, proactive and friendly person, who will help keep them organised and entertained. While the girls are at school, the household duties are to include:

  • Tidying and organising the home
  • Cleaning all rooms and bathrooms to a high standard
  • Family laundry and ironing
  • Bed linen changing
  • Wardrobe management
  • Grocery shopping
  • Family friendly cooking (homemade as often as possible)
  • Managing household and school admin and errands
  • In the school holidays, when the hours are increased, there will be more time to spend with the children, including organising trips and playdates. The ideal candidate will be pro-active, energetic, technology savvy, and a competent cook. You should be a careful and confident driver, with a clean licence, for school runs, activities and household errands. There is a fully insured car to use on duty.

    The family is looking for someone who is self-motivated and would like to muck in and become part of the family. The candidate will be a warm, friendly and honest person who is pleasant to have around.
