Full Job Description

Are you enthusiastic and looking for a new challenge working with children? Are you seeking an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of Young People and their families?

Lavender Grove are looking for dedicated, passionate, and enthusiastic individuals to join our team of Family Support Workers across Essex, specifically -

Chelmsford
Clacton
Colchester
Who are Lavender Grove?

Our company ethos is really important, we want our young people to feel loved, cared for and nurtured whilst having the opportunity to explore a ''normal'' childhood and life experiences. With your guidance, the team will ensure that our young people and families are supported within the community to reduce the chance of further intervention or placement within residential settings.

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed people who are able to offer emotional and practical support and who are confident in visiting children and families with complex needs in their homes or, within a community setting. You will need to be able to remain focused and calm in what can be a stressful and emotional environment, but remain family centred and professional at all times.

Main Responsibilities and Key result areas

The role includes holding a caseload, intensive direct work with children, young people and their families, within their homes and community to address a range of issues which impact on family life and functioning, such as parental ability, substance misuse, domestic violence, poverty and housing. The role also involves dealing with partner agencies to ensure that children and their families are well supported across relevant agencies.

You will be carrying out independent but low-risk interventions and assessments to identify the family's needs or deliver services directly to families. You will assist more experienced colleagues in delivering complex service activities or assessments and develop your own skills and experience.

If you are interested in becoming a Family Support Worker where your own life experiences have involved interaction with children and families who have required support and practical help or through a voluntary role, we provide free training which, is inclusive but not limited to, NVQ Level 4 Health & Social Care; Child Protection, Safeguarding Adults and Safeguarding Children, Attachment Disorder and Child Sexual Exploitation. We offer continuous online training, support and guidance to all our new and existing employees and self-employed workers.

All successful applicants will need to hold a full clean UK driving license and have access to a vehicle insured for business use.
