Family support worker

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Cardiff to assist with the appointment of a Family support worker, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration., To deliver a range of flexible and appropriate support services that enable parents to build on their capacity to enhance their childs health and development including direct work, group work, and family work.
To deliver services to children (aged 0-18 years) and their families that have been identified to be in need in accordance with Childrens Services policy for Family Support Services, the Service Specification; all other County policies, procedures and legal requirements.
Be a point of contact with professionals and appropriately manage telephone, emails and other methods of communication.
To work inclusively with case management teams to meet the changing demands of Childrens Services in relation to the authoritys statutory duties.
To contribute towards core assessments, as required, in partnership with other service areas and agencies to identify childrens strengths and needs.

Education at GCSE or equivalent level
Experience of working directly with vulnerable children and parents/carers in the community
Theoretical and practical knowledge of Child Development and Parenting skills.
