Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit 2 Family Support Workers within the Disabled Children's Team,one Post is for 22.2 hours per weekSecond Post is for 29.6 hours per week. The role is to assist the social workers and otherprofessionals in formulating plans and agreeing the action necessary to carry out theseplans.You will undertake, as determined by the child's plan, specific responsibilities relating tothe emotional well-being of a looked after children, children subject to a child protectionchild in need plans or a short breaks plan, and help with individual sessions with theseyoung people.You will carry out return home interviews with children who have been reported as missingto the police, and work with children and young people who are at crisis point throughprovision of focused work, in order to prevent admission into care.

We are looking for someone with the experience of working with children and young people as well as parent's, carers and other adults. Having an understanding of children's safeguarding is essential along with good verbal and written communication skills.
