Full Job Description

We currently have both full time and part time roles available. Please indicate in your supporting statement which working pattern you are interested in. Do you have the skills and experience to engage and build positive trusting relationships with parents, children and young people to inspire them to make positive changes and improve life opportunities? We have a great opportunity within our Family Time (supervised contact) Team, which supports children separated from their families allowing them to spend nurturing, fun and family-focused time together. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a Barred List check Our benefits We are committed to continuous improvement, building a skilled, knowledgeable, and flexible workforce alongside promoting innovation and creativity whilst keeping children, young people and families at the heart of all we do., You will be required to organise, supervise, record and assess child Family Time with the needs and safety of the child as the paramount concern. You will work as part of a team, carrying out and developing the duties and responsibilities of this post, liaising with parents/carers and professionals to ensure that Family Time meets the changing needs of children and families that reside within Northamptonshire. You will be required to work approximately one Saturday a month on a rota basis and be flexible to ensure the needs of children and families are met. Your base location will be aligned to your home, and you will be expected to travel across and outside of Northamptonshire.

Ideally you should have some knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and of current social care practice and child protection procedures. You have experience of working with children, or caring for children, within a statutory setting. You are able to effectively engage with families and build relationships which will enable them to improve outcomes for children and their families. You are 'reflective' and creative when working with vulnerable children and families. You have excellent communication skills and apply attention to detail when it comes to maintaining records.
