Full Job Description
We are looking for two dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Family Time Workers. In this role, you will work directly with children and their families, facilitating court-directed family time to support positive relationships and family bonds., As a Family Time Worker, you will:
- Facilitate family time sessions between children and their parents at the Family Time Centre, other local venues, and occasionally in the wider Greater Manchester area.
- Work closely with families to create a safe and supportive environment for family time, ensuring safeguarding principles are followed.
- Observe and document family interactions, producing high-quality written reports that may be submitted to court.
- Build positive working relationships with families and multi-agency professionals.
- Manage challenging situations using de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution skills.
- Work independently when required, using your initiative, while also contributing to a supportive team environment. Working hours are Monday to Friday, based on a rota, with shifts between 8:30 am and 6:00 pm. Flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the service and families.
- Proven experience of working with children and families in a professional capacity.
- An understanding of safeguarding principles and the ability to apply them in practice.
- Strong observation and written communication skills, with the ability to produce detailed and accurate reports.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide constructive feedback and challenge appropriately.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and collaboration. Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- De-escalation skills, such as the ability to manage conflict calmly and effectively.
- A full UK driving licence.
- A deep understanding of the importance of family time and high levels of empathy.
Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £49.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months' salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50.
