Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Capel Manor College and we are now seeking to appoint a Farm Assistant to join the team at Forty Hall Farm. The successful candidate will work within our Farm.

They will be responsible for the day-to-day routine care of the farms' animal stock in accordance with the animal welfare policy to include cleaning out of accommodation, provision of feed, water, bedding, nesting material, and daily health checks.

The ideal candidates will be will hold Level 2 qualification or higher in an animal care discipline and have some experience working with a range of livestock species. They will be able to demonstrate awareness of Health and Safety issues with regard to own duties and the Animal Sections and keep and maintain animal records.

They will also be able to work effectively unsupervised as well as part of a team, have a strong commitment to the care and welfare of the College's animals and to be enthusiastic and motivated.

The successful candidates will be required to work occasional weekends, bank holidays and to cover staff holidays. They will need to be flexible to accommodate changing demands and circumstances. They will be required to uphold the welfare of the college's animal stock at all times, and follow Health and Safety procedures at all times.
