Full Job Description

Our farm project team at SweetTree Fields Farm in Mill Hill, NW7 work with children, adults and older people who have a variety of care and support needs including SEN, learning disabilities, brain injuries, mental health issues, Dementia, physical disabilities, and educational exclusion.

Our 14-acre SweetTree Farm provides activities including animal husbandry, horticulture, natural crafts, woodwork, conservation, enterprise, and cooking.

We are currently recruiting a part time Farm Project Assistant to support and facilitate a wide range of workshops. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual, who can demonstrate a diverse skill set who is committed to empowering people through outdoor activity.

Project Assistant key tasks include:

Assist Project Leaders in delivering group sessions and educational programs.
Collaborate with the education team to prepare and deliver engaging sessions.
Actively engage with participants during sessions, promoting learning and exploration.
Maintain safe learning environments, adhering to health and safety protocols.
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for service improvement.
Personal skills and experience needed as a Project Assistant

Essential: Passion for the outdoors with solid experience in horticulture or farm-based environments.
Essential: Supporting in project delivery and activity planning with various stakeholders.
Essential: Relevant professional qualification (e.g. education, social care).
Essential: Experience supporting individuals in group settings with diverse needs.
Essential: Background working with young people, vulnerable groups, and those with challenging behaviours.
Proven professional background in educational settings (SEN) or care.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively motivate and engage others.
A proactive attitude that embraces challenges and problem-solving.
Excellent organizational skills with a strong focus on customer service.
Proficient literacy and computer skills.
Working knowledge of first aid and health & safety protocols relevant to outdoor settings.
Willingness to work in an off-grid, practical farm environment.

Shifts: Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 9:30am to 3:00pm (16.5 hours per week guaranteed) Additionaly hours also avaialble
Salary: £13.85 per hour
Contract: 3 month zero-hour contract
