Female Carer

To assist highly intelligent, witty, articulate, young minded 51 year old lady,
who has limited abilities with various aspects of daily living including meal preparation/cooking & domestic duties & personal care in her own home

Also socialization visits to animal sanctuaries, National Trust properties, garden centres and TV & film conventions
Entrance fees are always covered by the employer, It is expected that all of your employer's possessions will be treated with care, avoidable damage may be charged for
Your objective will be to facilitate your employer's requests in a responsible & supportive manner whilst maintaining a personal professional profile that benefits the role

You will respect your employer's right to make their own choices & decisions, their privacy & have an understanding of the need for confidentiality in all areas of your work

This would suit someone with no other employment commitments

This is a permanent position & the same high standards are expected as any other type of employment

To ensure safety, comfort & well-being at all times as you would with a loved one

To assist with meal preparation, includes cooking & baking from recipes; household tasks; recycling of rubbish, laundry, cleaning/tidying & personal care as required

To support the employer in caring for her cat; cleaning litter trays, feeding & taking to vet appointments when required

To communicate on your employers behalf; making telephone calls & letter writing

To provide assistance with getting to, and taking part in various social activities
Your own car will be the method of transportation in this case

To carry out other duties/activities connected with the role which the employer may reasonably request

It would be advantageous to have an awareness & understanding about how allergies/sensitivities can impact on someone's life

The lady's home is a chemical, fragrance & smoke/vape free environment due to severe sensitivity to chemical & scented odours

You MUST be willing to avoid wearing such or subjecting your employer to these i.e. you can NOT wear anything SCENTED (e.g. perfume, hairspray, laundry products etc.), as this could have an adverse effect on her health

A NON-SMOKER / NON-VAPER is ESSENTIAL for these health reasons

You MUST be up to date with COVID & other vaccinations
&
You MUST be willing to test for COVID before each & every session
COVID tests will be provided at no cost to the employee, Experience of caring is not essential but would be advantageous if only for a family member

Be a caring sympathetic female & possess a lot of common sense

Be honest trustworthy reliable & flexible

You MUST have a full driving licence, business class insurance & be willing to use your own car to take the lady out

It is your responsibility to acquire the business class vehicle insurance before escorting your employer out of her home in your vehicle
Business class vehicle insurance costs will NOT be met by employer

Your car must be big enough to take a standard portable folding wheelchair
with removable leg extensions, along with at least one backseat passenger as well as the lady herself

You must be able to load/unload the wheelchair & leg extensions,
in/out of your car, to assist with transfers & to push the wheelchair around

Possess empathy & willingness to learn about your employer's disability & not discriminate

Understand the confidential nature of the work

Be of a friendly, understanding personality with good conversational skills but not overly talkative or loud & a good listener

Be able to take instructions & at times work on your own initiative, once you know the routine

Must have no objection to cats

Must be committed & dedicated to helping & improving another's life

To wear suitable attire & footwear to work

Have a dedicated work ethic
