Female Companion / Carer - DOBNCL

We are looking for a suitable person to be a dementia companion/carer for my wife who is affected by Parkinson's disease and Lewy Body dementia. She is otherwise in good health.

The post would suit someone who is patient, has GSH and who is physically able to assist my wife in moving around which she often finds difficult and often uses her wheelchair. She can also be confused at times. The post would also involve assisting with preparing/cooking meals and general domestic duties i.e. cleaning, washing, vacuuming etc

Some personal care is also involved.

The post would be commencing 16 November 2024, and for an initial period of 1 month which may be extended if both parties agree.

The position is shared with another carer who is in place.

At the time of starting their employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K.

Working hours would either 15 hours at a weekend or 30 hours spent over 4 or 5 days involving working every other weekend. This to be discussed/agreed during interview. The salary is £13.12 per hour and will be paid direct to the successful applicant less usual tax, NHI etc

There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be male/female in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and Equality Act 2010 schedule 9 paragraphs 1 - 4.
