Full Job Description

I am looking to recruit a new team of PA's to support me to live independently in my own home, I live with my 2 dogs.
I do not have use of my legs and have several medicals conditions, which mean I need a high level of personal and domestic support. Crucially, I need to avoid situations that are stressful or overwhelming, so I am looking for PAs who are patient, attentive and calm.
I have a mobility tilt-n-space electric chair and adapted vehicle, and after the pandemic years I am keen to return to getting out of the house e.g coffee shops, meeting friends and family etc.
Therefore, ability to drive with an up to date driving license is preferred.

Summary of tasks
You will be required to follow my weekly personal and domestic rota and meal planner.
Due to my medical conditions, my processing can be delayed while I understand questions and form responses, so patience and strong listening skills are crucial
Good general health: the house has been adapted with equipment needed for my care, so while it is not necessary to be strong, this is still a physical role involving lifting, bending, pushing etc.
Experience and knowledge of using slings, hoists, tilt-in-space shower chairs
Personal care: There are aspects of personal care in this role including application of creams, support with showering and toileting and washing etc.
Medication: Support with medication including insultin, full training will be provided.
Daily domestic care: Cleanliness is important to me for my health. Support with domestic duties including vacuuming, washing etc.
Daily cooking: preparation of fresh meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Able to use a cooker and air fryer.
Domiciliary care tasks: including shopping / picking up prescriptions etc
Supervise my reactions and sleeping closely due to medical needs, to identify instances when escalation may be needed, and understand the correct escalation procedures
Administration support: Support with admin tasks.
Dogs: Support looking after my dogs including feeding and walking.
Providing companionship and encouraging independence by supporting with trips out of the house in powered tilt and space power chair and car for shopping, socialising and maintaining contact with family and friends
Please note, if hospital admissions should happen, contracted hours would need to be worked at the hospital., My hospital specifies the need for mandatory, life saving training for all PAs involved in my care. This would be completed in work hours but you would need to arrange your own transport.
A permanent offer of employment and start date will be subject to satisfactory completion of DBS checks (paid for by employer), 2 satisfactory references from your current and previous employers and mandatory online training (paid for by the employer). The role includes an initial 3 month probationary period, extendable to 6 months if necessary.
