Full Job Description
In this role, you will provide overnight support and care, working alongside a colleague (one waking night and one sleep-in). Your focus will be on maintaining comfort and safety for the people we support throughout the night. This involves supporting with personal care, administering medication (training provided), conducting regular observations, and supporting with specialised needs like PEG. You will also help with light household tasks, ensuring the home is prepared for the next day.
We support three wonderful ladies and one gentleman, aged 28 to their 50s. The ladies primarily communicate with body language and facial expressions. The gentleman communicates uses words and enjoys engaging with others. All three ladies are PEG fed, and comprehensive training will be provided to ensure you feel confident in delivering this care.
Daytime activities are an important part of life here, and although your role focuses on the night shift, you will be supporting people to maintain routines that include swimming, art therapy, social outings, FaceTime calls, and family visits. They have enjoyed holidays in the past, including cottage stays and potential trips abroad, and love visiting the cinema, skiing, going to the gym, and attending their Friday night club.
We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for care, a commitment to supporting others, and the ability to work waking night shifts.
