The Telecoms Division at MGroup Services is seeking dedicated and skilled Fibre Engineers (FTTP) to join our team. As a Fibre Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, testing, and maintenance of Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) networks. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on exciting projects, delivering critical infrastructure that enables fast and reliable broadband to homes and businesses.Location South London.,
- Install, test, and maintain Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) networks.
- Splice fibre cables, ensuring high-quality connectivity.
- Conduct fault-finding and diagnostics on fibre networks.
- Work collaboratively with other engineers, supervisors, and coordinators to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
- Maintain all required documentation, including job packs and as-built drawings.
- Adhere to health and safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Perform civil work tasks, such as working in confined spaces and at heights when required.
Proven experience in Fibre Engineering, ideally in FTTP network installations. - A valid clean UK driving license (no more than 6 points, with no disqualifications required for fleet van insurance)
- Ability to interpret utility maps and diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of fibre optic networks and splicing techniques.
- Physically fit, as the role involves manual labour, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings when necessary., Relevant certifications in fibre optics or telecommunications (desirable but not essential).
- NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Act) certification (advantageous).
- Confined space training and first aid certification are beneficial.
