Full Job Description

The Telecoms Division at MGroup Services is seeking dedicated and skilled Fibre Engineers (FTTP) to join our team. As a Fibre Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, testing, and maintenance of Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) networks. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on exciting projects, delivering critical infrastructure that enables fast and reliable broadband to homes and businesses.Location South London.,

  • Install, test, and maintain Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) networks.
  • Splice fibre cables, ensuring high-quality connectivity.
  • Conduct fault-finding and diagnostics on fibre networks.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers, supervisors, and coordinators to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain all required documentation, including job packs and as-built drawings.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Perform civil work tasks, such as working in confined spaces and at heights when required.

    Proven experience in Fibre Engineering, ideally in FTTP network installations.
  • A valid clean UK driving license (no more than 6 points, with no disqualifications required for fleet van insurance)
  • Ability to interpret utility maps and diagrams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of fibre optic networks and splicing techniques.
  • Physically fit, as the role involves manual labour, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings when necessary., Relevant certifications in fibre optics or telecommunications (desirable but not essential).
  • NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Act) certification (advantageous).
  • Confined space training and first aid certification are beneficial.
