Elementar UK, part of the Elementar Group, Germany, is responsible for the sales and support of the expanding range of Elemental Analysers and related instruments in the UK as well as being an award-winning manufacturer of Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer (IRMS) systems covering a diverse and exciting range of applications. Based in Stockport, Greater Manchester where our facilities are for building, testing and servicing our instrumentation as well as housing a full R&D team, we research and develop for basic human needs: our devices ensure quality of life and are used when it comes to water, food, education, health, the environment, climate, energy or product quality., Due to continued growth here at Elementar UK, we are looking for a Field Service Engineer based in the North West area. Working at various customer sites across the UK and internationally you will be tasked with building, maintaining and developing strong links with the Company's new and existing customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing service within the UK and overseas covering IRMS and EA product lines. This will include installation, repairs, preventative maintenance and training.,

  • Perform installations, PMs, repairs, upgrades, compliance testing and training for customers both in the UK and overseas
  • Ensure all service contract work is carried out within scope of agreement, particularly solving critical issues as efficiently and as quickly as possible
  • Organise schedule to ensure all work is completed to an excellent standard to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Report accurate times of all onsite activities in the form of reports and expense claims
  • Provide onsite support for IRMS and EA products globally
  • Maintain a highly professional relationship with all customers ensuring customer loyalty and repeat business
  • Testing of upgrade and repairs in the factory
  • Operate in a pro-active manner to assist Product Managers and Sales to identify and develop business potential for both elemental analysis and IRMS instruments and upgrades
  • Liaise with customer support to ensure required parts are delivered to customer site in good time
  • Develop and maintain product support documentation including manuals, engineering notes and knowledgebase documents
  • Manage provided assets including stock, car, telephone, computer, tools etc.

    As the ideal candidate you will have a degree from a scientific background or have relevant experience. You should have excellent problem-solving and communication skills, as well as a strong technical background. Being able to work independently and as part of a team is essential and you should be comfortable with a variety of scientific tools and technologies. Experience working in various lab environments and being able to troubleshoot and repair complex issues whilst communicating effectively and accurately with the customer is preferable but not essential. Additionally, you should have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel to customer sites within the UK and internationally.
