Full Job Description

We employ a multi-skilled team of mechanical and civil engineers at the South Yorkshire site. Their expertise includes production design, fabrication, welding, electrical engineering, hydraulics and computer numerical control machining. The over-riding responsibility of a Field Service Fitter is to carry out maintenance and repairs to plant and equipment to the required standard, as directed by the Field Service Manager.

You'll:

  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs of all mechanical aspects of the plant and ancillary equipment within the depot.

  • Fixed mechanical installation work

  • Utilise diagnostic technology to test, inspect and diagnose faults on plant and ancillary equipment.

  • Plan, prioritise and schedule the flow of work on a daily basis.

  • Progress the work / job from initial inspection through to final inspection and sign-off.

  • Identify, record and requisition repair items / parts as required, ensuring continuity of the work.

  • Travel to sites to carry out repairs, inspections, testing and servicing as required.

  • Report to Field Service Manager about any training needs to develop full skills set required for the role.

    Required: City & Guilds / NVQ L3 or equivalent in Plant Maintenance or Fitting

  • Desirable: Knowledge of all types of piling / ground engineering rigs and equipment

  • Health and Safety trained - CSCS card.

  • Experience in carrying out repairs and maintenance of plant and equipment.

  • Environmental awareness

  • Manual handling
