Position: Field Support Engineer Location: Labman HQ, Seamer, North Yorkshire Salary: From £42,000+ (based on experience) Plus Travel allowance Job Opportunity Due to increasing demand for both our custom automation and robotic laboratory products (MultiDose), Labman is looking to hire enthusiastic, self-motivated and professional Field Support Engineers.The successful candidates will work within a well-established Support Team and be based from Labman HQ in North Yorkshire, UK. Focusing on MultiDose initially, you will take completed products from our internal production team and configure them for the customers' consumables. You will then deliver and install MultiDose at the customers' site and conduct user training. As part of the wider Labman Support Team you will also be involved with supporting our custom automation.The job will be challenging and dynamic with opportunities to learn and develop your skillset, meet customers and travel.Labman HQ is a creative and innovative environment, full of the latest robotic systems and technology, as well as climbing walls, gym and even a squash court. What the Job Involves
- Performing scheduled preventative maintenance and planned improvements to Labman custom automation, MultiDose and other products.
- Configuring the new Labman MultiDose to use customers' consumables.
- Installing MultiDose at customer sites worldwide, potentially into clean rooms or gloveboxes.
- Communicating with customers, Labman Support colleagues, internal production and the MultiDose Product Manager.
- Conducting customer training in operating MultiDose, routine maintenance and fault diagnosis.
- Providing reactive technical support both on site and remotely.
- Fault finding and problem-solving with support from specialist teams.
- Documenting feedback & customer information to improve future design and customer experience.
- Following Labman's procedures to log and document all support work undertaken

- Strong problem solving & fault-finding skills including decision making, clear communication, research & analysis skills.
- Enthusiastic temperament, relishes tackling dynamic situations.
- Experience with hand-tools.
- Customer facing role so presentable at all times.
- Ability to identify issues, diagnose faults and provide solutions.
- Willingness to regularly travel worldwide, sometimes at short notice; (expect 50% travel throughout the year and occasional weekends abroad).
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and prioritise work.
- Customer oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive attitude.
