Full Job Description

As part of the essential front-line operations service, you will be joining a collaborative and welcoming team that is responsible for ensuring that planned and reactive work is completed to a high standard and to schedule. This role helps make sure our clean and wastewater assets are operated and maintained effectively across our various sites and that our customers are kept well-informed throughout planned and reactive works. You'll be responsible for ensuring that all activity is undertaken in line with contractual agreements and internal procedures. This is a customer facing role based in/around the North Wales and West Midlands areas and will include participation in an out-of-hours rota on a 1-in-5 basis. What You'll Be Doing:

  • Operating and maintaining both clean and wastewater assets and networks
  • Ensuring we hold sufficient supplies of wholesome potable water supplies and water resource
  • Providing a mobile reactive maintenance and repair function within your operational area
  • Recording accurate information and feedback in real-time using portable IT equipment
  • Communicating regularly with colleagues and customers onsite to ensure swift and satisfactory resolutions and to record completed works
  • Travelling to different sites on a regular basis and reading meters
  • Taking part in a regional on-call rota to provide out of hours response and support to customers

    Maintenance experience, ideally within a similar role
  • Willingness to undertake training and development to support you in your role
  • Intermediate IT skills and experience of using different IT software packages and devices
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills to enable you to work with customers and colleagues
  • Ability to manage and maximise your time effectively and identify time-saving opportunities
  • Comfortable to work with chemicals and gases once trained to do so
  • The ability to build and develop strong relationships at all levels with both internal and external contacts and customers
  • Comfortable working in both confined spaces and outdoors in all weather conditions
  • About you: Due to the nature of sites on which we operate, the successful candidate must:
  • Meet the security clearance requirements for the role which includes, but is not limited to, the successful candidate being a full-time resident of the UK for the past 5 years'.
  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance which involves a Criminal Record Check and a full MoD Security Application and associated verification processes.
  • You must have a full, valid driving licence and be comfortable driving a van.

    Salary: £27,348 to £32,500 (dependent on experience)
