Full Job Description

Our Finance and Admin Officer is at the centre of our school function and plays a critical role for parents, children and staff. The main duties of the role are to:

  • Liaise with payroll, submit claims, check pay and undertake payroll reconciliation


  • Advertise vacant positions and administer selection procedures


  • Ensure all new staff have correct checks and references in place and that all safer recruitment procedures are followed


  • Ensure the Single Central Record is up-to-date at all times


  • Account for cash received, and count, record and bank cash as necessary


  • Submit invoices for dinner money, residential trips, music lessons and lettings


  • Prepare invoices, print cheques, obtain signatures and send cheques


  • Book transport, training courses, supply teachers, and the school photographer


  • Administer breakfast club, after school clubs, and pre-school / nursery


  • Organise "Contacts" lists, severe weather procedures and fire drills


  • Draft and distribute newsletter for parents / carers for approval of the Headteacher


  • Assemble, print and distribute children's reports


  • Oversee the servicing, maintenance and repair of buildings, plant equipment and fixtures and fittings


  • Control and re-order stock such as stationery and educational consumables and uniform


  • Process admissions applications, including accessing the LA portal, replying to in-year transfer requests, collecting information forms, and administering information forms and CTFs in Scholarpack

    This is a busy and demanding role, often with competing demands. It's essential that you have admin experience (although this doesn't have to have been in a school) alongside experience of managing budgets, and using a variety of IT packages. You will be someone who is:
