Full Job Description

The Consumer Lending Business is a key part of the Retail Banking Division providing personal lending and financing products for Mortgages, Credit Cards, Personal Loans and Financing for vehicles in the Transport Business. All of which are household brand names in the markets they operate in. This role provides a great opportunity to join the finance team supporting this business looking at both future and past performance as well as opportunities to grow the business.

Reporting into the Senior Manager Consumer Lending Planning and Reporting, the role will sit within a team of fourteen colleagues responsible for the delivery of accurate data, information, and performance reporting to stake holders across Retail Finance.

Day to day, you will:

  • The main purpose of this role is to tell the story of the performance of the business and contribute to the forward look view predicting the future expectation of business delivery through the planning process.

  • Supporting your team in providing insightful, high quality management accounting reports, executing control, and operating as a management accounting specialist support across the Consumer Lending Businesses.

  • Build a wide network of contacts across Finance, with collaboration between teams being the key to your success in the role.

  • Respond to individual and team objectives and invest in improving personal performance by growing own skills and capabilities.

    What you will need:

  • You will be a qualified/in your final year as an accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA)

  • Ensure that great financial control is at the heart of everything we do.

  • Be onsite with the team at least two days a week in Cardiff or Bristol.

  • Be curious - do not accept the status quo. Challenge the way we currently do things and look for ways we can improve them.

    Be able to work collaboratively and enjoy collaborating with stakeholders from different areas.


  • And any experience of these would be useful:

  • Experience in financial Planning/Budgeting in a Business Context

  • Experience in Financial/Monthly Performance Reporting

  • Have a Financial Services background.

  • Confident in using Excel/PowerPoint and other Microsoft applications.

  • Experience in using Oracle Ledgers
