Full Job Description

Both the Consumer Lending and Consumer Relationship Businesses are a key part of the Retail Banking Division. Consumer Lending provides personal lending and financing products for Mortgages, Credit Cards, Personal Loans and Financing for vehicles in the Transport Business. All of which are household brand names in the markets they operate in. Consumer Relationships support customers with their everyday banking needs through their Personal current accounts and Savings while also supporting the Private banking business. We review performance through both a product and a customer segment lens. This role offers an excellent opportunity to join our finance team, where you will analyse both past and future performance and identify growth opportunities for the business. Reporting to the Senior Manager in the Planning and Reporting teams, this role is part of a team dedicated to delivering accurate data, information, and performance reports to customers across Retail Finance. As part of the role, this will involve:

  • Telling the story of the performance of the business and supporting forecasting of future business outcomes through the planning process.
  • Support your team by delivering insightful, high-quality management accounting reports, ensuring robust controls, and serving as a specialist in management accounting.
  • Develop a broad network of contacts across Finance, with collaboration between teams being crucial to your success in this role
  • Meet individual and team objectives while investing in your personal development by improving your skills and capabilities.

    Qualified/in final year as an accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
  • Maintain strong financial control at the core of all our activities.
  • Be onsite with the team at least two days a week in Cardiff, Newport or Bristol.
  • Be curious and challenge the status quo. Continuously seek ways to improve our current processes.
  • Work collaboratively and enjoy engaging with customers from various areas.
  • Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:
  • Experience in Planning/Budgeting in a Business Context
  • Experience in Monthly Performance Reporting
  • Have a Financial Services background.
  • Confident in using Excel/PowerPoint and other Microsoft applications.
  • Experience in using Oracle Ledgers
