Full Job Description

We are seeking 2 Finance Apprentices to join our friendly Financial Management team. You will be responsible for assisting Directorate Finance teams in ensuring the production of accurate monthly financial performance reports, entering journals and budget changes into the ledger, undertake analytic work and assist in providing advice and support to budget holders. Trust will provide support in:

  • Achieving an accounting qualification in AAT level 2/3 (Association of Accounting Technicians)
  • Working within the organisation to gain confidence, experience and build a portfolio of evidence for apprenticeship accreditation.
  • Gaining work experience in the finance administration processes, participate in appropriate training opportunities, and understand the role., The post holder will assist the Assistant Finance Manager in ensuring that budgets and expenditure are accurately recorded in the ledger, that the ledger is accurately maintained and that month end procedures are carried out in line with Trust procedures.
  • The post holder will have the opportunity to access work and earn a wage as they learn on the job. It is part of the Trusts grow our own workforce for the future programme. Being an apprentice may be the post holders first step of a career in the NHS. It is an opportunity for the post holder to experience work, study, and learn new skills. The post holder will work towards a Level 3 AAT - Assistant accountant, Level: 3 (Standard, 18 months) During the apprenticeship the post holder will undertake work-based assessments, complete all assignments/projects relating to the Apprenticeship framework and present evidence portfolios for assessment within specified timeframes for apprenticeship accreditation. The post holder will be assessed throughout the Apprenticeship contract in regard to practice and education and will be expected to complete the essential elements of the apprenticeship within an 18-month time frame.
