Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to join our Finance Team. This is a rare and exciting role in the business and will give the successful candidate the opportunity to support out Finance Team.
What's the opportunity?
The Finance Assistant is responsible for the timely and accurate information flow between ScS Head Office, the ScS branch network and external bodies such as finance houses and Landlords, including dealing with related queries.

What does the role involve?

  • Assist with the daily management of the Finance House process, making all requests for payments, imports and completing reconciliations on a timely basis.

  • Rent management - ensuring monthly and quarterly rent payments are forecasted and paid accurately, liaising with landlords to ensure all VAT invoices are posted to NAV in a timely manner.

  • Prepare payment schedule, set up electronic payments and assist in coordinating, reviewing final authorisation ensuring adequate controls are in place

  • Ensure customer warranty policies are accurate, up to date and issued weekly to the warranty providers, dealing with any related queries.

  • Reconciliation of insurance mandate debtors liaising with ScS branches and insurance providers.

  • Credit card/petty cash management liaising with senior management to record all expenses accurately.

  • National Statistic reporting, monthly, quarterly and annually.

  • Maintain standard operating procedures listing reviewing and updating as necessary.

  • Other duties may include control account reporting, customer refunds, vouchers, filing, post and miscellaneous invoice raising.

  • Undertake as required (e.g. mini project work), other duties in keeping with the general nature of the position.

    Self-starter with initiative, versatility, drive and a positive attitude to ensure satisfactory conclusion of tasks.

  • Used to working to strict deadlines in a fast paced environment with a hands on approach.

  • Great communication skills.

  • Flexible in approach with ability to prioritise tasks.

  • Analytical with a methodical approach to problem solving.

  • Team player with the ability to work under own initiative and take ownership for tasks.

  • Proven organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Previous experience of working in a similar role is essential.

  • GCSE (including maths/English) or above - AAT part/fully qualified desirable
