Finance Assistant

Watergate Bay Hotel is seeking a talented Finance Assistant to join our team. As a Finance Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our finance department and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes.

As a Finance Assistant, you'll tackle a variety of tasks that keep our finance team running. From processing invoices and reconciling accounts to managing expense reports, you'll handle it all with finesse and accuracy.

You'll even get the chance to dive into financial analysis, crunching numbers and providing valuable insights to drive our business forward.

This role is pivotal in supporting the Finance Team in ensuring that all day-to-day functions and statutory responsibilities are carried out, enabling the businesses to operate efficiently and effectively and comply with applicable laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.

What your day could look like :

• Collating and accounting for end of day routines and transactions across the businesses, including revenue recognition


• Recording and processing all payments for the group of companies


• Daily analysis of bank transactions and processing these within the accounting systems


• Preparing monthly bank account reconciliations


• Accurate processing of journals into Sage


• Accounts Payable - invoice & payment processing; reconciling supplier statements to the purchase ledger


• Assisting in maintaining accurate and reconciled aged creditors listings


• Assisting in preparation of reconciliations for balance sheet accounts


• Identifying and implementing better ways of working within the Finance Team to improve effectiveness, timeliness, and accuracy of outputs


• Assisting with process documentation


• Other ad hoc tasks as may be assigned by the business from time to time
  
  Experience of working in Finance


• Experience of using accounting systems (Sage preferred, but not essential)


• Organised and structured to ensure things get done


• Able to work well with other team members and at times independently


• Upbeat and positive attitude


• Flexible and able to prioritise tasks to achieve overall Finance Team and Company goals


• Comfortable with working to deadlines with a positive can do , positive attitude


• Willing to suggest new ideas and always looking for ways to improve the way we do things


• Proficient Microsoft Excel user
